Sevenish started over dinner with friends.
We were trying to figure out when everyone could hang out again, but between work, school, relationships, and life, finding a date that worked was harder than it should've been.
Then we started talking about a paint-and-sip I wanted to try. None of the dates worked for our friends, and I said, "I wish there was basically a Tinder for friends."
Someone mentioned Bumble BFF, but that wasn't quite it.
We didn't want to match with someone first and then figure out what to do. We wanted to choose the experience first, and meet people who already wanted to be there.
That conversation turned into Sevenish.
As a couple, we've been together for ten years and have had many of the same people in our lives for just as long. We also know firsthand how hard it can be to meet new people as adults. Between working from home, online school, busy schedules, and being naturally more reserved, making new friends doesn't always happen organically.
So we decided to build something that makes it easier.
Making friends as an adult is weirdly hard.
After high school and college, you kind of lose all the built-in ways of meeting people.
Your friends get busy. Schedules stop lining up. More people work remotely. And unless you're someone who can just walk up to a stranger and start talking, meeting new people can feel a lot harder than it should.
It starts to feel like there should be an easier way.
Sevenish starts with the plan.
Most friend-finding apps start with the person.
Sevenish starts with something you actually want to do.
Pick an experience (dinner, trivia, bowling, a workout class, karaoke, a pop-up, a paint-and-sip) and find people who already want to do it too.
So instead of trying to figure out who to meet first, you already know you have something in common.
There's a place to go, something to do, and something to talk about when you get there.
No endless swiping.
No awkward "we should hang out sometime" that never turns into anything.
The plan is already there.
You just show up.
Why Sevenish?
When we were trying to name the idea, we kept coming back to the same question:
And that was it.
It just felt right: casual, social, a little spontaneous.
Not exactly 7:00.
Just… sevenish.
Built in Miami, for Miami.
We're starting in the city we know best.
Miami has endless places to go and things to do, but that doesn't automatically make it easy to find your people.
Sevenish is for the person who just moved here, the person whose friends are busy, the person who works from home, the person who's socially anxious, and the person who keeps saying:
"I'd go if I had someone to go with."
We want Sevenish to become more than an app. We want it to be part of how people in Miami make plans, try new things, and meet new people.
