You haven't met your whole social life yet.
Making friends in Miami isn't a personality problem. It's a scheduling one. Pick something you want to do, and we'll match you with a small group who picked it too.
Nobody in Miami says no to plans. They just never make them.
You know the pattern. "We should get coffee sometime." Everyone means it. Nobody calendars it.
And there are people ten minutes from you who'd click with you — same restaurants, same weird hobby. You have no way to find them.
Starting with the plan means nobody makes the first move. The reason to be there already exists.
Not a dating app. Not another events feed.
Events apps give you a list and let you walk in alone. Friendship apps give you one stranger and expect you to invent a reason to meet them. Friendship needs three things a chat thread can't provide: a group, a reason, and a date.
Sevenish starts with the plan, because the plan is the easy part to say yes to. The people come with it.
"I'd feel weird walking into a room of strangers."
You won't be walking in cold. Everyone there picked the same plan for the same reason, and everyone is a little unsure. For the first twenty minutes the activity does the work, which is exactly why we start there instead of with a profile.
You're not joining someone else's friend group. You're starting one.
Meeting people in Miami, without the group chat
Most advice about how to make friends as an adult tells you to put yourself out there. That's not the hard part. The hard part is that "out there" has no address and no time attached to it.
We write about this properly on the blog:
Before you join
When does it launch?
Fall 2026, across Miami. The waitlist gets access first.
How does the matching work?
You pick a plan. Everyone who picks it goes into a pool, and we build small groups from the people who fit together, based on your onboarding answers and interests.
What does it cost?
The waitlist is free. We'll publish pricing well before launch. No paywall appearing the day you get access.
How big is a group?
Four to six people. Small enough that there's no edge of the room to stand on.
Is this for dating?
No. This is for friends. Anything else is between you and Miami.
Do I have to go alone?
No. You're matched into a group before the plan happens, and everyone in it chose the same thing you did.
What if I've lived here for years?
Then you probably know the feeling of running the same three-person rotation since 2019. This is for you too.
Which neighborhoods?
All of Miami-Dade, open citywide at launch. Brickell and Coconut Grove are where the calendar is thickest right now; the rest of the map fills in as hosts sign on, fastest where the most people are waiting. So tell whoever lives near you.
Your city's bigger than your group chat.
Get on the list before we open the doors.
Miami only. For now.
