Privacy Policy

How Sevenish collects, uses, and protects your information on this site, our launch waitlist, and the Sevenish app.

Last updated: July 28, 2026

Looking for how we keep events safe? See Trust & Safety.

The short version
  • We collect what we need to run the waitlist and the app, never more.
  • We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. No ad trackers on this site.
  • Your sign-in identifier is used only to secure and recognize your account.
  • Location is used only while you're in the app, with your permission, to show nearby events and confirm you arrived at a check-in. We check your coordinates against the venue and discard them; we store only the check-in itself. No background tracking.
  • Event photos are visible only to the people who checked in to that event. You can delete your own anytime.
  • Delete your account anytime; profile, matches, messages, and photos go with it.

This summary is for convenience; the full policy below is what governs.

Who we are

Sevenish (“Sevenish,” “we,” “us”) is a social discovery service launching in Miami. This website, thesevenish.com (the “Site”), introduces the upcoming Sevenish app and lets you join our launch waitlist.

This policy describes what we collect through the Site and the Sevenish iOS app (the “App”), and how we handle it. The section “In the Sevenish app” below applies once you create an account in the App.

Information we collect

Waitlist signups. When you join the waitlist we collect your email address, along with the page you signed up from, the country your request came from, your IP address, and your browser type. We use the technical details to prevent abuse and understand where interest is coming from.

Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the correspondence so we can respond.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Site (for example pages viewed, approximate location, and device and browser type). Google processes this data on our behalf; we don't use it for advertising. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

What we don't collect. The Site uses no advertising trackers. We don't collect payment information on the Site, and we don't run ads.

In the Sevenish app

Account & sign-in. You create an account with Sign in with Apple or Google. We receive your name and email address (or Apple's private relay address if you choose to hide yours) and an identifier that lets us recognize your account. We never see your Apple or Google password.

Your profile. To match you into groups, the App asks for your first name, age, neighborhood, a short bio, the interests you pick, and your answers to our get-to-know-you questions. Your profile (name, neighborhood, bio, interests) is visible to people you're matched with; your age is shown only if you allow it in Settings.

Location. With your permission, the App uses your device location while you're using it (when-in-use only) for two things: to orient the nearby-event experience, and to confirm you've actually arrived when you check in to an event. When you check in, and again for the quiet confirmation check shortly after, the App sends your current coordinates to our service once. We compare them against the venue's location to confirm you're there, then discard them immediately. What we keep is the check-in record: which event, and when. We don't store your coordinates, we don't build a location history, and nothing runs in the background or between sessions. You can decline location access and select a neighborhood by hand instead, though location-verified check-in won't be available if you do.

Events & matching. We keep a record of the events you register for, your group matches, and event check-ins so hosts know who attended.

Event listings from other sources. Some events in the App aren't ours: we list public events from Ticketmaster, and we've built (but currently disabled, pending organizer consent) a similar integration with Eventbrite. We receive event details from those platforms (title, venue, time, description, images, ticket links). We do not send them your profile, your matches, or your photos. If you buy a ticket, you leave the App and transact with the ticketing platform under their terms and privacy policy.

Messages. Group chats and direct messages are stored on our servers so we can deliver them to you and the people you're talking to. They aren't public, and we don't read them except as needed to investigate abuse reports or as required by law.

Notifications. If you enable push notifications, we store a device token to deliver them. You can turn them off anytime in Settings or iOS Settings.

Purchases. The launch version doesn't offer in-app purchases. If optional paid plans are enabled later, purchases will be processed by Apple through the App Store. We would receive confirmation of what you're subscribed to, never your payment details.

Deleting your data. You can delete your account in the App (Settings → Delete Account), which removes your profile, registrations, matches, messages, and the photos you took from our systems, including the copies stored in Cloudflare R2. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.

Photos & the disposable camera

Event photos (the disposable camera). If you use the in-app camera at an event, the photos you take are uploaded to and stored on Cloudflare R2, our storage provider, along with the event they belong to and the fact that you took them. Like a disposable camera, the event's roll stays undeveloped until after the event; once it develops, the photos in it are visible only to members who checked in to that same event. Rolls are not public, they aren't posted anywhere outside the App, and we don't use your photos for advertising or training. You can delete any photo you took at any time, and you can report someone else's photo from the roll; reported photos are reviewed by a person and removed if they break our rules. Photos taken in the App live on your device only if you save them there. If you turn photo sharing off in Settings, we honor that setting and your camera contributions stop. We keep event rolls while the event and its attendees' accounts are active, and we remove them when the event roll is deleted or when they are no longer needed to run the service.

Cookies & local storage

Google Analytics sets analytics cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions, as described under “Information we collect.” If you join the waitlist, your browser stores your email locally on your own device so the form remembers you; that data never leaves your browser. A login cookie is used only by Sevenish staff who sign in to the Site's administration area.

How we use your information

  • To keep your place on the waitlist and contact you when Sevenish opens in your area
  • To send you a confirmation email when you sign up
  • To send occasional updates about the Sevenish launch (you can opt out of any email)
  • To protect the Site from spam and abuse
  • To respond when you contact us

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. Your information is handled by the service providers that run our infrastructure:

  • Cloudflare, hosts the Site and the App's backend, and stores waitlist and App data, including event photos in Cloudflare R2 storage
  • Resend, delivers our emails (such as your signup confirmation)
  • Google, provides our site analytics (Google Analytics) and Google sign-in if you use it
  • Apple, provides Sign in with Apple, push notification delivery, and App Store purchases
  • Ticketmaster, supplies public event listings we show in the App (and Eventbrite, the same, currently disabled pending organizer consent). These are sources of event data, not recipients of your personal information

These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or users' safety.

Data retention

We keep waitlist information until the launch process for your area is complete, and for a reasonable period afterward. If you ask us to remove you, we delete your information promptly.

In the App, we keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Event photos are kept while the event roll exists and the accounts involved are active. When you delete a photo it is removed from the roll and from our storage, and when you delete your account the photos you took are scrubbed along with the rest of your data. We may keep a limited record of a report or safety action after deletion, for as long as needed to keep the community safe or to meet a legal obligation.

Your rights & choices

You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, just email hello@thesevenish.com from the address you signed up with. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK GDPR; we honor reasonable requests from everyone regardless of location.

Security

Waitlist data is stored with Cloudflare using encryption in transit and at rest. Access is limited to Sevenish staff accounts protected by individually hashed credentials, and administrative access is rate-limited against brute-force attempts. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the data we hold to the minimum needed to run the waitlist.

Age requirement

The Site and the Sevenish waitlist are not directed to children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information. The Sevenish app itself will require users to be 18 or older. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes affecting waitlist members, we'll email you.
